APANUI SCHOOL REBUILD
On Feb 6, 2021 Apanui School had an arson. We lost 8 classes, our admin block and a range of storage spaces. The impact for our school and community was massive.
The support from the Whakatāne community and from other schools across the nation was overwhelming, and we were so grateful during this difficult and challenging time.
Our school has now moved on and we have so many exciting things happening everyday. As a school our children and staff have navigated through this tough time in a way that we can be really proud of.
"He manu hōu ahau, he pī ka rere"
It was with much excitement that our teachers and students moved into their new classrooms this term, and everyone has settled in beautifully.
The Administration block and Staffroom are now complete, and Apanui School will have a formal blessing and opening on Friday 15th September 2023.
We welcome everyone from our community to attend - nau mai haere mai!
